"Oí la noticia el mismo día de su muerte. Paralizado, no me pude levantar en una hora del sofá en el que me hundí. Sin ser apenas consciente, me levanté para ir directamente al piano. Trasteé el teclado de un modo extático. Me sentía a medio camino entre un médium y un zombie. Tenía el ordenador sobre el piano, lo puse a grabar con su propio micrófono interno y empecé a tocar. Bajé la tapa del piano; paré la grabación, hecha del tirón. Nueve años después se la di a Javier Escudero para masterizarla. No está editada ni tiene retoques añadidos, como todas las piezas de esta serie, así que la escucharemos tal y como se grabó, con la inspiración del momento, con el crujir de la silla, el chocar de la tapa en el teclado, la respiración... Aquel día quise buscar una elegía entre aquello que dejó dentro de mí, a lo largo de casi toda mi vida, Paco de Lucía."

"I heard the news the very day he died. Paralyzed, I couldn't get up for an hour from the sofa I sank into. Barely conscious, I got up to go directly to the piano. I fiddled with the keyboard ecstatically. I felt halfway between a medium and a zombie. I had the computer on the piano, so I started recording with its built-in microphone and started to play. I closed the lid of the piano and stopped the recording, done in one and only take. Nine years after I gave it to Javier Escudero in order to do the master it. It is not edited or has added recordings, as all the pieces in this series, so we will listen to it as it was recorded, with the inspiration of the moment, with the creaking of the chair, the sound of the lid over the keyboard, the breath... That day I wanted to find an elegy among what had left inside me, throughout almost my entire life, Paco de Lucía."
